Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker within the Connected Carers (Fostering) Team to work full time based in Medway.

The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £45,806 per annum.

Main duties:

  • To contribute to the delivery of a highly effective Children’s Social Care Service, taking responsibility for working and managing a caseload within a framework of appropriate supervision.
  • To work with Specialist Guardians, connected carers and children placed in connected carer arrangements, assessing their support needs, providing support as appropriate, and making ASF applications to deliver specialist therapeutic support.
  • To assess, plan, use evidence based analytical practice to implement and evaluate safeguarding measures to ensure all children are given opportunity to reach their full potential.
  • To attend Court, Fostering Panel and other forums as appropriate to present assessments.
  • To maintain accurate written and computerised records, in accordance with agreed procedures and in order to meet legislative responsibilities.
  • To co-ordinate, and take a lead role in multi-professional/agency groups and other professional meetings.
  • To comply with legislation, statutory guidance and local policies and procedures.
  • To participate in one-on-one Performance Development Reviews and contribute to the identification of won and team development needs.
  • To actively promote the Council’s Fair Access, Diversity and Inclusion Policy and observe the standard of conduct which prevents discrimination taking place.
  • To ensure full compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the Council’s Health and Safety Policy and all locally agreed safe methods of work.
  • To fully understand and be aware of the commitment to the duty under Section 17 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 to prevent crime and disorder.
  • At the discretion of the Head of Service, such other activities as may from time to time be agreed consistent with the nature of the job described above.

Requirements of this Social Worker job:

  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Continual professional development.
  • Social Work England registered.
