Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency is currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to work based in Bedford, within the Children’s Team.
The pay rate for this locum Social Worker role is £38.26 per hour (Assignment rate) and is a 10-week contract.
Main Duties:
- Work collaboratively with children, young people, and their families/carers to assess their needs and plan and deliver services in accordance with the social work team’s service area.
- Undertake assessments in accordance with statutory/regulatory and operational standards, policy, and procedures for the service.
- Anticipate, assess, and manage risk to children and young people in more complex situations and produce high quality assessments.
- Plan, implement, and review a range of interventions for children, young people, families/carers.
- Manage a complex workload independently, maintaining accurate, up-to-date records safely and confidentially. Produce succinct, well-structured records and reports with clear analysis and judgements.
- Pro-actively engage with colleagues and a range of organisations to identify, assess, plan for, and support the needs of children, young people, families/carers in order to promote positive change and independence, whilst demonstrating confident and effective judgement about risk to children and young people.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work.
- Current Social Work England registration.
- Minimum of two years of post-qualifying experience within frontline children’s social work.
- Qualified Practice Educator or willingness to undertake training.
- If qualified since 2010, successful completion of the ASYE or the Children’s Workforce Development Council’s Newly Qualified Social Worker programme.
- Evidence of learning, through CPD and its application to practice and/or mentoring.
- Full driving licence and daily access to personal vehicle.
- Knowledge and application of the values underpinning children and young people, legal and policy framework in Children’s Social Care, and the Professional Capabilities Framework.
