Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time in Guernsey, within the Children with Disabilities Team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.
The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £38 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.
Duties of the Social Worker:
- The post holder will be based in a Child Development Service and will undertake as required; social work needs led needs assessments within current service thresholds.
- To hold a 'child in need' caseload of children with additional needs/ disability as required.
- To act as lead professional with the Team Around Child model to ensure a co-ordination of care and support.
- To ensure children's holistic need are met by working closely with parents, carers, colleagues and other agencies, ensuring the child is central to all planning.
- To form positive working relationships with professionals from other departments, agencies and disciplines.
- To prepare reports for meetings, reviews, panels, court and The Children Youth and Community Tribunal and to represent Committee for Health and Social Care in legal proceedings.
- To collect statistical information regarding disabled children and young people and to contribute to governance reporting as required.
- To maintain case recordings and files in accordance with professional standards.
- To ensure that legislation, policies and procedures in relation to disabled children are adhered to and to contribute to the development of policies, procedures and guidelines as required.
- To provide professional support and guidance, as agreed, to team members on specified work as requested by Senior Practitioner.
- To participate in the Emergency Duty System.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's Services
