Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time in Chelmsford in a Safeguarding Team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in adults' services and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £207 per day (LTD Company Equivalent) and is a 6-month ongoing contract.

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload, including assessment of risk and purposeful intervention through direct work, commissioned services and review. Quality assuring interventions and balancing need with finance, using effective practice audit tools. Ensuring safeguarding in line with the Council's statutory obligations across the council and with partners.
  • Within this specialist team, your role you will lead and co-ordinate organizational and individual safeguards, working with care providers to ensure adults are safe, to identify and support the provider to reduce any immediate risks and support on-going stability and sustained improvement.
  • You may also be required to undertake Care Act Assessments or Reviews as part of this work.
  • Triaging of new Police referrals, including advice and guidance, to establish if it meets the safeguarding threshold.
  • Oversight of MARAC referrals and attendance at professionals' meetings when required.
  • Arrange and manage organizational safeguarding meetings, engaging with adults and their families. This may include liaison with other local authorities and key partners as the risk requires.
  • Make safeguarding and risk management recommendations.

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within adults' services
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and demonstrable capability of practice in accordance with current professional standards e.g. professional capability framework, knowledge and skills statement.
  • Educated to degree level (i.e. Diploma or degree in social work, CQSW, CSS) or equivalent.
  • Experience within a social care setting with evidence of challenging social and family situations.
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to develop a rapport and engage with diverse groups of individuals.
  • Developing strong relationships with partners, other agencies and the local community to achieve joint objectives and offer a supportive framework for children and vulnerable adults.
  • Understand the financial implications of care packages commissioned.
  • Evidence of clear decision making in order to highlight and limit the potential risks associated with intervention.
  • DBS Check
  • Driving licence and car or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means is essential.
