Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Service Manager within the Adults Covering Learning DIS & MTH Team to work Full Time based in Medway.

The salary for this permanent Service Manager job is up to £63,719 per annum.

Main duties:

  • Support an approach of continuous and accountable performance improvement in line with the future vision for Adult Social Care. Supporting teams to set and aspire to appropriate targets to deliver Departmental objectives.
  • Ensure all the teams are managing an effective referral and assessment process, which promotes a prevention and recovery approach in collaboration with health/private and voluntary sector colleagues.
  • Lead and manage teams of qualified and nonqualified staff to ensure adults and carers are supported in Southend-on-Sea to achieve their full potential.
  • Lead teams in the process of change, encouraging effective team working.
  • Engage people on all levels to strategically develop services with an onus on co-production with communities and stakeholders.
  • Develop staff strengths, abilities and support them with their aspirations to ensure they feel valued, inspired and able to lead and manage their teams.
  • Promote positive risk assessment and decision making to challenge boundaries around risk averse practice.
  • Lead the team by playing an active role in practice development, offer advice and be consulted within a specialist service area, including modelling good practice and setting expectations for others.
  • Ensure there is a quality assurance framework to monitor and maintain practice standards to a high level.
  • Manage individual and service performance to ensure that staff are capable and able to perform at the required level.
  • Develop staff strengths, abilities and support them with their aspirations to ensure they feel valued, inspired and able to manage their teams.
  • Encourage staff to become co-creators of change within the communities they serve and support the transformation, asset and strengths-based agenda.
  • Provide staff with learning and development opportunities, supervision and appraisals to manage change, lead and drive Southend-on-Sea City Council towards a learning organisation.
  • To work outside the core hours and on weekends and bank holidays when required, including having some on-call responsibility when needed.

Requirements of this Service Manager role:

  • A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Past experience within Management roles.
