Sanctuary Health has a permanent job vacancy for an experienced and dedicated Senior Theatre Practitioner to work full-time based in Droitwich Spa. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of nursing and be registered with the NMC.
The salary for this permanent Senior Theatre Practitioner role is £30,000 per annum.
Role Purpose:
Deliver safe quality care for patients during their peri-operative phase of care.
To support, coordinate and actively assist in the management and organisation of care within the operating department.
Provide quality planned care for patients during their peri-operative phase of care by ensuring all team members deliver quality patient care by providing appropriate clinical and managerial leadership.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
Lead the team to deliver care that helps improve the health of the individual and wider community.
Lead the team in demonstrating compassion through effective relationships based on empathy, respect and dignity.
Develop own competence to deliver effective care and treatments through improving clinical/technical knowledge / skill, and expertise.
Communicate appropriately with others involved in the care of the patient.
Act as an advocate for safeguarding patients; demonstrate courage to speak up when there are concerns about care.
Demonstrate commitment to improving care and the patient experience.
Lead in the delivery of patient care, during a list or specified period of time.
Ensure that patient safety checks are carried out in accordance with the policy and that all practitioners adhere to the policy.
Contribute to quality improvement.
Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self.
Promote best evidence based practice within own scope of practice.
Apply legislation, policies and procedures correctly.
Respect the patient's dignity, privacy, wishes and beliefs.

Requirements of the Senior Theatre Practitioner:
Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration
Approved/recognised anaesthetic course.
To work across multiple surgical specialities in either the scrub or anaesthetic role
Qualified nurse or ODP - mentorship preferable but not essential.
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills across a range and varied patient case mix and competent across a range of skills (Desirable)
ENB 998 and/or mentorship course and/or D32/33/A1 (Desirable)
