Sanctuary Personnel, a committed and competitive recruitment agency is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Social Work Practitioner to work full-time based in West Sussex, within the Adult Services & Health Community Team.

The pay rate for this locum Senior Social Work Practitioner role is £32 - £35 per hour (Assignment rate) and is a 3-month contract.

Duties:

  • Work as part of a busy community team providing a service to adults 18 upwards
  • Support and deputise for the Team Manager in terms of day to day management of the team and also in terms of developing the team and moving into the future
  • Face to face visits
  • Visits in people’s homes will be necessary, as well as care homes

Requirements of the Senior Social Work Practitioner:

  • Degree in relevant professional or equivalent qualification e.g. Certificate of Qualification in Social Work or Diploma in Social Work
  • Registration with the relevant professional registration body and responsibility for maintaining registration with that body
  • Be able to work autonomously and flexibly including some working out of normal office hours
  • Already be working at Senior Social Work level of higher and bring these skills and experience to this role
  • Demonstrable evidence of providing focused, timely, sound and accurate advice and guidance and working through very complex casework
  • Experience of making a significant contribution to delivering and implementing change
  • Demonstrable experience of dealing with a wide breath of issues and complex situations and using highly developed analytical skills to provide solution focussed and resource efficient options
  • Evidence of good assessment skills, including the ability to ensure regular reviews and risk management with a variety of individuals, carers or families
  • Evidence of effectively prioritising work and meeting deadlines
  • Experience of effective partnership working with those who access or need the service and maintaining a focus on the needs of the individual whilst handling conflict and disagreement
  • Experience of effectively supervising or coaching others
  • Experience of maintaining and developing effective working relationships within a multi-agency/multidisciplinary setting with evidence of influencing change
  • Evidence of working with those who access or need the service to identify issues and identify specific action by means of creative and pragmatic solutions
  • Experience of managing levels of risk within a caseload of complex safeguarding cases
  • Completion of relevant post qualifying training
  • Valid, full driving licence
  • Practice Teachers Award
  • Be able to undertake a mixture of working from home and office-based (which is in Horsham County Hall North)
  • Be double jabbed against COVID-19 or provide proof of Medical exemption
  • Skills/knowledge of supervising staff, leading on safeguarding enquiries and overseeing duty functions of the team
