We are currently seeking an experienced SEND - Area Inclusion Lead to join a team in the South East of England.

Pay Rate: £375 - £400 per day

Contract Length: Initial contract is 6 months

Working Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm.

Key Responsibilities of the SEND - Area Inclusion Lead:

  • Ensure forms are completed and approved by the commissioning teams and Head of Inclusion.
  • Make decisions regarding provision, tuition, consultations, placement changes, plan cessation, funding, challenge letters, and direction letters.
  • Collaborate with Alternative Provision (AP) providers to ensure smooth integration with SEND processes and a graduated approach.
  • Work directly with schools to embed inclusive education practices.
  •  Ensure timely updates of SEND transport requests.
  • Run monthly reports, analyze performance, and review PCAR, assessment, and caseload data with case officers and Area Inclusion Leads to ensure progress and address backlogs promptly.
  • Review and provide feedback on draft and final Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring high-quality standards and signing off finalized plans.
  • Evaluate monthly samples of PCARs, report on their quality to the Head of Inclusion, and provide feedback to officers.
  • Lead and support officers in managing complex cases, including responding to case discussion forms.
  • Oversee pupils out of school and those receiving Education Otherwise Than At School (EOTAS) who require specialized support and intervention.
  • Work with other Area Inclusion Leads to support and evaluate specific leadership areas (e.g., Elective Home Education (EHE), EOTAS, Child Welfare and Safeguarding Work (CWSW), complex health cases).
  • Submit reports to the Head of Inclusion as needed.
  • Participate in multiagency panels, including joint funding, complex health, Children in Care (CIC), and Fair Access Panels (FAP).

Applicant Requirements of the SEND - Area Inclusion Lead:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Valid proof of eligibility to work and reside in the UK, a current DBS check, and two references.
  • A clean UK driving license with the ability to commute independently.
