Position: Social Worker – Children in Need Team
Location: Guernsey, Channel Islands
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £44,816 - £56,324 per annum (experience dependent)

Relocation Assistance:

New employees relocating to Guernsey or Alderney will receive a generous one-time payment, £5,000 (£6,600 for Alderney). Additionally, various relocation expenses are covered, including removal costs (£500), furniture storage (up to £50 per week), and rental allowances (between £185 and £260 per week for up to four years) or house purchase grants (£8,750).

About the Role:

As a key member of our team, you'll deliver essential services to vulnerable children and families, working closely with professionals to ensure the highest standards of social work practice. From assessments to interventions, your role will be pivotal in securing positive outcomes for those in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, and review support for children and families with complex needs.
  • Provide vital intervention during family crises to safeguard children from harm.
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal and external partners to empower families.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to safeguard children from abuse or neglect.
  • Facilitate suitable care arrangements in partnership with children and families.
  • Advocate for the autonomy and development of individuals facing social challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records and actively contribute to strategic planning.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with a UK social work registration body.
  • Demonstrable capability of practice in line with professional standards.
  • Proficiency in case recording and IT utilisation.
  • Mobility throughout a wide operational area is essential.
