The salary for this permanent Registered Manager/Head of Care job is £44,000 - £54,000.

About the organisation:

As post holder of this role, you will be joining an organisation that is a dedicated and independent operator that runs special needs schools, transition homes, supported care, and community support services catering to individuals with diverse learning disabilities and complex needs.

The group's expertise extends to operating community-based transition homes, offering a supportive environment for young adults with moderate to severe learning difficulties to enhance their independent living skills. Additionally, the organisation manages community-based adult residential homes, providing higher levels of support for individuals with specific needs.

The main aim is to be committed to making a positive impact, the community support service reaches individuals and their families in their homes or wherever they venture in the community.

Main Duties:

  • Lead the children's home, providing direction, guidance, and support to residential care staff for the delivery of a cohesive care service in alignment with School and organisation Policy Documents and regulatory requirements.
  • Model best practice approaches and offer support to staff and managers during challenging episodes with children.
  • Serve as the Registered Manager for the School's care provision with OFSTED.
  • Act as an integral member of the School's Senior Management Team and appropriately represent the care provision within this context.
  • Fulfil the role of a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) within the home, ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals in the care setting.

Requirements of the role:

  • Relevant management qualification such as Level 5 Diploma in Leadership/Management (or working towards) or equivalen
  • Relevant social care qualification such as NVQ / Level 5 in Care
  • Considerable experience of working with young adults or young people with LD and ASD and/or Mental Health
  • Previous work experience in a residential care provision
  • Care management / supervision level experience – including sound transition in and out of a service for young people / young adults
  • Willing to work towards the next appropriate level of qualification
  • Up to date Safeguarding Training
  • Relevant NVQ / Level 3 Diploma
  • Degree in Social Work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent
