Sanctuary Health has a permanent vacancy for an experienced and dedicated Recovery Nurse to work prison based within a Substance Misuse Service in Manchester. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of nursing and be registered with the NMC.
The salary for this permanent Recovery Nurse role is £24,000 - £29,000 per annum.
Summary:
- To provide nursing care for patients accessing specialist substance misuse services in HMPs to include treatment, harm reduction, BBV testing, screening and patient education.
- All interventions delivered must be recovery focused, integrated, and effective and delivered to a high standard.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure a high standard of clinical care for patients under your management and support other members of the team to do likewise.
- To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work including the management of patients in your care.
- Provide nursing treatment to patients in participation with Delphi Clinicians or independently agreed protocols.
- To undertake full clinical assessments and manage the health needs, planning, delivery and evaluation of care in conjunction with Delphi Medical Clinicians, Healthcare and other departments such as Mental Health, Gym and security.
- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate treatment/interventions and care for patients presenting with substance misuse issues.
Requirements of the Recovery Nurse:
- Degree or equivalent in Nursing
- Post qualifying experience working as a Nurse
- NMC Registration
- Knowledge of substance misuse.
- Understanding of the roles, values, procedures and standards of working in a prison environment
- 1 years post registration experience in substance misuse or working in healthcare within a prison setting is desirable.
