Role Overview:

Sanctuary Personnel are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Pharmacist to join our client's team. This role is ideal for those with a minimum of 1-year post-graduation experience in either a community or hospital setting, though applicants with varied backgrounds are welcome.

Shift Pattern:

  • Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (30 hours per week will be considered)
  • Shifts: Monday - Friday, 08:30 am - 18:30 pm, with some Saturdays on a shared rota basis and occasional Bank Holiday working

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate pharmaceutical care to meet patient health and well-being needs.
  • Assess the health and well-being of patients with complex and changing needs in the context of their medications.
  • Monitor and evaluate the movement and use of medicines.
  • Maintain effective communication on complex and sensitive issues with various individuals and groups.
  • Lead the development of knowledge, ideas, and work practices within the team.
  • Manage and structure data, information, and stock management documents effectively.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the training of others.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of services.
  • Participate in research and development activities.
  • Promote best practices in health and safety, security, and infection control.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Advocate for equality, diversity, and patient rights.

Person Profile:

Qualifications and Training:

  • Master’s degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
  • Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

Experience:

Essential:

  • Clinical reasoning skills applied to a variety of complex patient needs.
  • Experience working in a pharmacy setting.
  • Suitable for both community and hospital-based pharmacists (No prior hospital experience necessary)

Desirable:

  • Previous experience as a pharmacist.
  • Experience collaborating with consultants and clinical teams.
  • Skills in stock and budgetary control.
  • Experience within an independent sector hospital pharmacy department.

Knowledge and Technical Ability:

Essential:

  • Competence across a range of pharmaceutical subjects with professional and clinical knowledge.
  • Completion of mandatory training requirements including infection control and health and safety.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and other relevant software packages.
  • Understanding of accountable practice principles.
  • Skills in stock control and financial management.
  • English language proficiency to IELTS 7.0 or equivalent.

Desirable:

  • Ability to teach and mentor others.
  • Interest in pharmaceutical developments.
  • Skills in patient empowerment and pharmacy business development.
  • Experience in professional assessment of team clinical competencies.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis.
