Salary: Band 7, depending on experience + £2,000 joining bonus (£1,000 on completion of probation at 3 months and £1,000 at month 13, T&C's apply)
Role Overview:
Sanctuary Personnel are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Pharmacist to join our client's team. This role is ideal for those with a minimum of 1-year post-graduation experience in either a community or hospital setting, though applicants with varied backgrounds are welcome.
Shift Pattern:
- Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (30 hours per week will be considered)
- Shifts: Monday - Friday, 08:30 am - 18:30 pm, with some Saturdays on a shared rota basis and occasional Bank Holiday working
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate pharmaceutical care to meet patient health and well-being needs.
- Assess the health and well-being of patients with complex and changing needs in the context of their medications.
- Monitor and evaluate the movement and use of medicines.
- Maintain effective communication on complex and sensitive issues with various individuals and groups.
- Lead the development of knowledge, ideas, and work practices within the team.
- Manage and structure data, information, and stock management documents effectively.
- Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the training of others.
- Assist in the development and improvement of services.
- Participate in research and development activities.
- Promote best practices in health and safety, security, and infection control.
- Support quality improvement initiatives.
- Advocate for equality, diversity, and patient rights.
Person Profile:
Qualifications and Training:
- Master’s degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
- Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
Experience:
Essential:
- Clinical reasoning skills applied to a variety of complex patient needs.
- Experience working in a pharmacy setting.
- Suitable for both community and hospital-based pharmacists (No prior hospital experience necessary)
Desirable:
- Previous experience as a pharmacist.
- Experience collaborating with consultants and clinical teams.
- Skills in stock and budgetary control.
- Experience within an independent sector hospital pharmacy department.
Knowledge and Technical Ability:
Essential:
- Competence across a range of pharmaceutical subjects with professional and clinical knowledge.
- Completion of mandatory training requirements including infection control and health and safety.
- Proficiency with MS Office and other relevant software packages.
- Understanding of accountable practice principles.
- Skills in stock control and financial management.
- English language proficiency to IELTS 7.0 or equivalent.
Desirable:
- Ability to teach and mentor others.
- Interest in pharmaceutical developments.
- Skills in patient empowerment and pharmacy business development.
- Experience in professional assessment of team clinical competencies.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis.
