Sanctuary Social Care currently has a permanent vacancy for an experienced and Permanence & Adoption Manager to working in Wandsworth. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Social Work Practice in Children's Services and be registered with the HCPC.

As the post holder of this role, you will receive a competitive salary of £42,656 - £51,690 per annum.

Main Responsibilities/Duties:

  • To play a central role in promoting and ensuring children within Children's Social Care achieve permanency.

  • The Permanency and Adoption Manager will be expected to

  • To take responsibility for the liaison with the Regional Adoption Agency.

  • Ensure there are plans in place and permanency is achieved for all children who become looked after.

  • To work with the front door teams to ensure social workers understand and formulate permanency plans for children

  • To act as the responsible person for adoption and permanency practice in the department.

  • To support all practitioners in all teams in working towards permanency for children.

  • Celebrates and promotes the service, Council and partnership successes, acting as an advocate for the Council Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • To provide leadership around children placed and waiting to be adopted.

  • To prepare for and manage inspections and achieve good outcomes.

  • Maintain processes and tracking of permanence planning for looked after children to avoid drift.

  • Work with social work practitioners to ensure high quality CPRs and profiles are produced for children.

  • Work with social workers to ensure that children are prepared for their adoptive and other forms of permanent placements.

  • Develop and review the permanency policy, contribute to the sufficiency statement.

  • Work with fostering team to develop an approach to identifying long term carers

  • Work with fostering team to develop an approach to identify and match children to foster carers

  • Work with the Performance Team to develop a performance suite to monitor permanency planning, contribute to the 903 and contribute to and review the ALB returns. * Work with practitioners to ensure children have a plan for permanent fostering

  • Work closely with Coram's adoption support team and other agencies, to lead and manage the delivery of appropriate adoption support services for children and adults whose lives are affected by adoption.

  • Ensure that the Adoption Service complies with all National Minimum Standards, Regulations and Statutory Guidance.

  • Work collaboratively with other council services, partners and professionals to ensure that individual care planning issues are addressed successfully

Requirements of the Permanence & Adoption Manager:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work

  • Current HCPC registration

  • Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
