Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency is currently looking for an experienced Band 4/5/6/7 Home First Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist to work based in Aylesbury.
The pay rate for this locum Home First Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist job is £15-£30 per hour (assignment rate) and is a 4-month contract.
Shift Pattern:
- 8am-8pm shifts.
- 7-day working.
- Full- or part-time.
Main Duties:
- Identify in-patients initially on acute medical wards alongside the medical therapists who are medically ready to go home and have the majority of their assessments in the home environment.
- Equipment and therapy input will be arranged the same day as the assessment at home along with care for personal care if required and this will continue for a few days and RRIC therapists will then continue any further input possibly for up to 6 weeks.
- Risk assess quickly and find solutions, have broad knowledge of resources, strategies and equipment for moving and handling and activities of daily living.
- Assess and reason the need for complex equipment e.g. hospital beds, hoists – full body and standing hoists with knowledge of what is already in the home which may be adapted promoting enablement and personalised plans.
Requirements of the Home First Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist:
- Degree or equivalent within Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy.
- HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist.
- At least 2 years of post-qualifying experience working as an Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist, including experience working in acute medicine, A&E, acute rehabilitation, intermediate care, rapid response, discharge to assess, or a Home First Service.
- Full driving licence and access to personal vehicle.
