Sanctuary Personnel, a committed and competitive recruitment agency is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 6 NHS Podiatrist to work full-time based in Winchester.

The pay rate for this locum Podiatrist role is £25.23 per hour (assignment rate) and has a 3-month contract.

Shift Pattern:

  • 8:30am-5pm with 1 hour lunch.

Main Duties:

  • Act as senior podiatrist providing an efficient, effective, and consistent high-quality treatment to the patient in a range of different clinical settings.
  • To provide a treatment plan for high risk and general patients with podiatric problems. The treatment plans include a course of treatment, foot health education, advice and discharge as appropriate, continuous treatment and reassessment of high-risk patients.
  • To assess, diagnose, develop, implement, and review individual treatment plans for patients with a wide range of clinical needs. To manage an individual caseload that will provide specialist care.
  • To act as a source of advice to patients, carers, GPs, and other healthcare professionals.
  • To provide a professionally competent service to patients in asafe clinical environment within a range of settings.
  • To commit to the philosophy of care with an emphasis on patient empowerment and independence by providing education and information to help patients manage their own foot needs.
  • To provide services at a wide variety of sites including a patient’s home, clinics, GP practices, community hospitals and in challenging conditions, often working in isolation.
  • To undertake diagnostic procedures effectively using appropriate equipment e.g. wound swabs, Doppler ultrasound. Competently interpret, record, report, and act on the results.
  • To be proficient in comprehensive neurological and vascular assessments, wound debridement, advanced pathology and wound management e.g. dressing selection.
  • To undertake specialist surgical intervention for complex nail pathologies, for example: nail avulsions and chemical destruction of the nail matrix with local anaesthesia.

Requirements of the Podiatrist:

  • Degree or equivalent within Podiatry.
  • Current BSc Podiatry/HCPC registration.
  • Recent experience working as a Podiatrist.
  • Available to start as soon as possible.
