Sanctuary Personnel, a leading and award winning recruitment agency is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 7 Advanced Blood Transfusion Biomedical Scientist to fill a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) based in Colchester, within the Blood Transfusion Ward.
The pay rate for this locum Advanced Blood Transfusion Biomedical Scientist job is £31 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an ongoing contract.

Shift Pattern:
- Monday - Friday
- 09:00 am – 17:00 pm
Duties:
- Assist in the supervision and development of all areas of the Blood Transfusion service
- Responsible as lead Biomedical Scientist for a specialist area
- Manages and coordinates the day to day activities of the team
- Leads on service improvement
- Processes specialist investigations and responsible for standard and quality of results
- Provides specialist advice to clinicians as to appropriateness of tests and timescales/provides specialist service e.g. training, advanced trouble shooting, problem solving for specialist requirement
- Work flexibly in reflection of service needs which may include an extended working day and/or participation in delivery of a 24 hour, 7 day per week service
- Maintain and promote professional image of the pathology
Requirements of the Advanced Blood Transfusion Biomedical Scientist:
- HCPC registered/must have a relevant qualification in biomedical science or alternative qualification
- Post qualifying experience within biomedical science
