We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Radiographer to join our bustling Imaging Department. This presents an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Radiographer proficient in CT & MRI techniques.

The successful candidate will undertake a variety of diagnostic radiographic procedures as needed throughout the Hospital, particularly in CT/MRI. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in Department Governance, encompassing Risk Management, Health and Safety, and Research and Audit endeavors.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess the clinical justification of Radiography referrals and operate under IRMER (2000) guidelines.
  • Provide guidance to imaging referrers and address patient inquiries regarding their referral.
  • Capture diagnostic images and proficiently position patients across diverse presentations.
  • Utilise advanced software on specialised Radiological equipment.
  • Assist in organising, coordinating, and prioritising workflow within the department.
  • Maintain high standards of patient care and professional conduct in the Imaging department.
  • Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Radiologists to review images and consider supplementary imaging procedures.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with technical applications on Imaging equipment.
  • Perform intravenous cannulation and manual injection of contrast agents following training and/or hospital competency assessment.
  • Work collaboratively within a team to ensure efficient communication and care delivery.
  • Liaise with internal hospital departments/wards and external sources to facilitate comprehensive patient care.
  • Adapt promptly to service, patient, or departmental changes.
  • Troubleshoot equipment faults and ensure adequate service provision in case of equipment failure.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills in staff allocation and service provision during staff absences.

Requirements:

  • Diagnostic Diploma of College of Radiographers or BSc Hons.
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
  • Certificate of Competence in CT/MRI.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in CT/MRI.
  • Current HPC registration.
  • Radiation Protection Certificate.
  • Demonstrated decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to work independently and accurately.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others.
