Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Independent Reviewing Officer to take on a part-time (2-3 days per week) position in the City of London. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with Social Work England.
The pay rate for this Independent Reviewing Officer is £42 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is available on a 3-month contract.
About the role:
- To work as an Independent Reviewing Officer, carrying out the role in accordance with statutory guidance and in accordance with the IRO handbook and departmental quality standards.
- To chair Child Protection Conferences within a strengthening families/signs of safety model, ensuring that these meet the quality standards laid down by the department.
- To ensure that there is regular contact with children looked after and care leavers in placement.
- To work with the Virtual School Headteacher and the Targetted Education Resources Panel to promote outstanding educational outcomes for CoL Looked After Children.
- To work in conjunction with operational managers and all other staff to ensure that child protection and Looked After Children, Children in Need , including 6 monthly reviews of direct payments for Children With Disabilities, and Care Leavers reviewing systems are fully and effectively implemented within the service.
- To professionally support and challenge the department in fulfilling its performance role and to escalate any issues to the Servcie Manager as required.
Requirements of the Independent Reviewing Officer:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current HCPC registration
- Exstensive experience within a similar role (IRO)
