Sanctuary Executive has a locum vacancy for an experienced and dedicated Head of Specialist Services to work within Children & Families Services in South West London. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with the HCPC.
The salary for this locum Head of Service job is £500 per day (LTD Company Equivalent) and is a 3-month contract.
About the role:
- This post is responsible for the strategic leadership and effective delivery of specialist multi-agency and multi-disciplinary services for children and families. The aim of the services managed by this post is to provide specialist, intensive, targeted support to children and families in order to reduce or prevent the need for children to be taken into care.
- This post will work with Heads of Service in the Children and Families Division and the Assistant Director for Early Help to ensure services for children and families on the edge of care work effectively with statutory and early help services and that effective step up and step down arrangements are in place.
- The post has responsibility for two family centres and a contact centre as well as the Family Recovery Project and Families First (Targeted services) plus the data analysis and national reporting for the Troubled Families Programme.
- The post will also ensure effective performance management of the service to ensure improved outcomes for children and young people. The intention is to develop and lead the service to become a best practice example of innovative work with children and families
Requirements of the Head of Service:
- Graduate with a relevant professional qualification and/or equivalent
- To have kept up to date with research and best practice, evidenced through substantial professional development
- Social Work England registration
- Experience within a senior position (HOS level)
