Sanctuary Health is currently looking for experienced and dedicated General Band 5 Radiographer to work full-time in Gobowen, Shropshire. The ideal candidates will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of radiography and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for these locum Radiographer jobs is £24 per hour (Assignment rate) and is a 3-month contract.

Duties:

  • Perform general and highly specialised radiographic procedures, ensuring that high professional standards of work are achieved and maintained, whilst applying ALARA principles using IR(ME)R guidelines. Be aware of and follow current IR(ME)R procedures.
  • When appropriate participate in the 24-hour on-call and standby services as allocated.
  • Organise, plan and prioritise workload according to clinical need without supervision
  • Organise In-patient workload co-ordinating portering staff, nurse escorts and or Doctors, adjusting plans in cases of unavailability of personnel or unforeseen circumstances
  • Adjust work pattern when Out Patient demand from clinics exceeds expectations.
  • Be a member of a Multidisciplinary team when in theatre taking the lead in advising on radiation protection of the other team members and patient, making sure that all team members are adequately protected with lead coats and ensuring that any members of staff who may be pregnant leave the area.
  • Empathise, persuade, negotiate with and provide reassurance to patients within the departments particularly those presenting with spinal cord injury, tumour patients and children. Advise on radiation dose and effects.
  • Handing over areas of responsibility when moving on ensuring continuity and smooth running of the department.
  • To participate in ongoing research projects. To be aware of and follow research protocols for imaging procedures.

Requirements of the Radiographer:

  • HCPC registration
  • Postgraduate experience
  • Be able to think outside of the box quickly and methodically.
  • Have experience of manoeuvring equipment within contained sterile environments
  • Be able to manage own workload.
  • Be able to build working relationships quickly to deliver high standards of service.
  • Be able to work seamlessly with the surgeons and be able to visualise resultant images.
  • Supervise radiography students and HCAs.
  • Commitment to Clinical Governance and quality.
