Overview:

Many authorities are struggling at present to cope with the demands on children’s services, often overspending against budgets and seeing more children coming into care. This is proving a real challenge for those authorities to find the right balance.

This particular council are looking to transform children’s services through significant investment from to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families.

Developing the strategies to deliver effective solutions for children and their families, learning from successful models deployed elsewhere and working closely with key partner agencies, other council services and the community, provides for an exciting opportunity for an experienced financial professional to join and help shape this future transformation.

The role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an interim Strategic Finance Business Partner to play a key role in the senior leadership team, working collaboratively with the Executive, key partners & suppliers to help shape and deliver their objectives and aims.

Leading by example in modelling and embedding desired values and behaviours to help build a sustainable highly effective organisation and develop our reputation as a successful company delivering great value to its children, young people and families.

Providing outstanding leadership and direction to the team, helping to drive transformation across the organisation.

Forging strong relations with the leadership team, developing an in depth understanding of operations to shape strategic financial planning.

Person Specification:

  • Recent experienced as a Finance Business Partner in a local authority Children’s Services setting is essential
  • Able to start within a few weeks
  • Able to commit to the office in the home counties 2-3 days a week
