Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Consultant Social Worker to work full-time in Hertfordshire, within the Safeguarding Team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.
The salary for this permanent Consultant Social Worker job is £39,782 - £42,683 per annum.
Our Family Safeguarding Teams are multi-agency teams that work with Child Protection and Child in Need cases and conduct the majority of our care proceedings. These are multi-disciplinary teams consisting of professionals in children's and adult social work, domestic abuse, substance misuse and mental health will work together to tackle the root causes of risk in families.
Duties of the Social Worker:
- HHolding a small caseload of complex work while transitioning into a management position. You will be a role model for good social work practice and use your experience to develop less experienced staff.
- Conducting supervision meetings and supporting other members of the team and providing management cover in the Team Manager's absence.
Requirements of the Consultant Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's Services
- Must have passion for achieving better outcomes for vulnerable children and their families and this will be demonstrated through applying theory and research to frontline practice.
- Must have knowledge of the challenges associated with working with children and their families. You should already have sufficient experience of staff supervision and management and be at the height of your social work career.
