Sanctuary Personnel is currently looking for experienced and dedicated Psychiatrist to work full-time in Redhill 24 hours per week.

The salary for this permanent role is £84,000.00 per annum.

Duties:

  • You will be required to provide support and advice to nursing staff and hospital management on clinical issues. The role holder will be working in close liaison with other consultant teams and services within the hospital as well as having continuing responsibility for the care of patients.
  • Cover as on call Consultant Psychiatrist one week in three (this may with your agreement be adjusted). 

Requirements of the Psychiatrist:

 

  • You will be qualified with full registration with GMC and you are responsible for maintaining this registration through your employment. As well as having experience working in an acute mental health setting and within a multidisciplinary team along with experience of teaching and training

 

 

  • You will have an excellent knowledge of Clinical Governance and regulatory requirements.

 

  • The postholder will hold a CCST/CCT (or equivalent) in the relevant areas of psychiatry and will have experience of working in inpatient settings with people withIntellectualDisabilities, Autism spectrum conditions and other neurodevelopmental disorderswith co-morbid mental health difficulties.Experience in the independent sector is desirable.
  • MB BS or equivalent medical degree.Membership /Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or approved equivalent higher qualification
  • Should have a wide knowledge of mental illness and experience of working in a variety of settingsCompetent to work on an on call rotaGood communication skills and ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.Ability tocommunicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.Abilityto use electronic records and use IT for email, internet and office software.Work co-operatively in a multi-disciplinary team and able to delegate appropriately.Able to comply with the timescales for completion of the assessments for referrals to the service.

  • Prior experience working as a Consultant in Intellectual Disability Psychiatry
  • Should have a wide knowledge of mental illness and experience of working in a variety of settingsCompetent to work on an on call rotaGood communication skills and ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills Is expected to manage clinical complexity
  • Experience in supervision of medical and non-medical staffShould be able to provide supervision/guidance for the SAS doctors.Should be able to make decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others.Knowledge of UK hospital systems
  • Participation in continuous professional development. Evidence of Reflective practice including purpose of CPD undertaken.Ability to use and appraise clinical evidence.Experience of regular active participation in clinical audit.Evidence of annual appraisal and commitment to appraisal and revalidation
