Sanctuary Health is currently looking for a Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse to work within the Community Mental Health Team based in Wandsworth.
The pay rate for this full-time role is £30.14 - £34.69 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 6-month contract.
Duties:
- Undertake the care co-coordinator role for a defined caseload of clients with early onset of mental health problems
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with all agencies and agents involved in supporting young adults at the point of transition into adult services
- Implement and/or participate in crisis intervention measures
- Supervise and monitor the therapeutic effects and side-effects of prescribed medication
- Organise and participate in the admission, discharge and transfer of clients
- Attend weekly clinical meetings
- Provide information and reports as required and accurately document all relevant information regarding clients and staff
- Have an awareness of the need to manage resources effectively within determined budgets
- Assist in the successful induction of new staff and regular supervision of junior staff
- Enter information onto Rio and prepare reports as appropriate
- Ensure that blood samples are sent to the laboratory within specified time scales
- Ensure that venipuncture is undertaken safely in line with Infection Control Procedures
Requirements of the Community Psychiatric Nurse:
- Valid NMC registration under Mental Health
- A degree or equivalent within Mental Health Nursing (RMN trained)
- Driving license
- Demonstrable experience of working with people who experience serious ongoing mental health problems in a variety of settings
- Experience of working within community nursing
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Skills in CBT or family work
