Clinical Lead Pay Rates: £50 per hour (assignment rate)

Location: Belfast. Main operational base will be Belfast, with an operational site in London. Staff are split across both the London and Belfast Offices; You may also work from your home address, in line with the Commission’s approach on hybrid working. 

Contract Type: 8-month contract

Duties:

  • Play a vital role in building the Commission’s trauma-informed approach
  • Advise, train and consult with staff to ensure that the Commission works in a way that supports families, victims and survivors
  • Work closely with the Chief Psychologist and the teams designing the Commission’s Engage, Information Recovery and Findings phases, to ensure the Commission takes a trauma informed approach to all its engagement
  • Providing specialist psychological consultation advice to Commission staff in policy and operations and helping to train staff in trauma informed engagement
  • Working with the Chief Psychologist to design and establish the evaluation approach for the Commission’s emotional support offer for those engaging with it
  • Co-creating a staff wellbeing strategy with HR colleagues and the Chief Psychologist
  • Building stakeholder relationships and promoting trauma informed principles across all of the Commission’s work

Requirements of the Clinical Leads:

  • Psychologists must be registered and accredited members of the BACP. (Registered Member MBACP (Accred) or Registered Member MBACP (Snr Accred).)
  • Clinical Psychologist with HCPC registration
  • Experience of working as a qualified practitioner psychologist including substantial post-qualification experience within specialty
  • An experienced Senior Counsellor registered with BACP or UKCP would also be considered
  • Extensive experience working psychologically and therapeutically with victims and survivors of trauma
  • Expert knowledge of the trauma informed model of care
  • Proven ability to apply psychological theory and evidence base to practice delivery
  • Experience and skill in service development, design and evaluation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience of working with teams and team leads to provide specialist psychological consultation, advice and support
  • Ability to work and deliver at pace, under public scrutiny
  • Current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance and willingness to undertake security checks to SC level
  • Capacity to undertake reasonable amount of travel to London and Belfast
  • Experience of working with survivors of Troubles related trauma or comparable experiences of working with impacts of sectarian violence, traumatic bereavement and serious injury (desirable)
  • Additional experience of working in non-health settings (desirable)
  • Experience of designing or delivering staff focused interventions and wellbeing initiatives (desirable)
  • Experience of working with contracted providers and third parties (desirable)
  • Experience of implementing systemic models of practice (desirable)
