Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Children’s Residential Support Worker to work full time based in High Wycombe

The salary for this permanent Children’s Residential Support Worker job is up to £26,500 per annum.

Main duties:

  • Using your experience and skills – further developed with our support and training, you will assist with the care of our children and young people
  • Training includes reflective practise to consistently improve the way we care for children
  • You will create positive relationships with the children, meeting their needs and always safeguarding them
  • You will create timetables, setting boundaries and expectations for the young people
  • Consistency and organisation skills are key
  • You will meet a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support
  • Maintain records contemporaneously throughout the day and be able to update plans and risk assessments as needed
  • Complete activities with our young people
  • Take our young people to appointments regally and develop relationships with external professionals and parents
  • To ensure that the health needs of young people are assessed and provided for, developing, and maintaining effective working partnerships with health professionals
  • Ensure that participation in a range of therapeutic, social, and recreational activities/opportunities for individual or groups of young people is encouraged
  • To ensure that all children have a full and appropriate education timetable
  • To be able to form positive relationships within education institutions, leading promoting and advocating for the educational needs and rights of the child

Requirements of this job:

  • Level 3 Children, Young Person and Family Practitioner (or equivalent) qualification
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • An understanding of the needs of looked after young people
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation and statutory guidance
  • An understanding of intervention strategies
