Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Children’s Night Care Supervisor to work full time based in Northampton.

The salary for this permanent Children’s Night Care Supervisor job is up to £21,054 per annum.

Main duties:

  • Participate in hand over sessions with day staff to ensure that the anticipated or likely behaviour of clients Care Plans can be handled correctly
  • Check the premises to ensure security
  • Refer urgent telephone calls/incidents requiring immediate attention to the member of staff who is on sleeping-in duty in the home, so that appropriate corrective action can be taken
  • Maintain case records and log routine telephone calls and incidents so that day staff are in possession of full information when undertaking their duties
  • Undertake domestic duties (e.g. laundry, food preparation) to assist with the routine operation of the Unit where assessed as practical by Unit Manager
  • Pursue appropriate staff development training programmes, which enable the post holder to undertake their duties in a professional manner, and in accordance with Unit/Departmental Policies, this includes attendance at staff meetings
  • Undertake admission arrangements in accordance with departmental policies to cope with emergency situations
  • Carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job description and which are commensurate with the grade of the post
  • Demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other people’s behavioural, physical, social and welfare needs
  • Ensure that reasonable care is always taken for the health, safety and welfare of yourself, others and to comply with the policies and procedures relating to health and safety

Requirements of this job:

  • Desirable to have the Level 3 Residential Child Care qualification or equivalent. Or a willingness to complete in post
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • An understanding of the needs of looked after young people
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation and statutory guidance
  • An understanding of intervention strategies
  • Enhanced DBS clearance
