Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 6 Biomedical Scientist to fill a full-time role in Guernsey within a Biochemistry Service. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Biomedical Scientist practices and be registered with the HCPC.
The pay rate for this locum Biomedical Scientist job is £30 - £32 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial ongoing contract.
Duties:
- Supervise and perform technical processes in all sections of the laboratory, carrying out laboratory investigations on pathology samples and taking responsibility for quality and accuracy of the results produced.
- Prepare specimens for analysis determining urgency and processing priority. Specimens will also include delicate, often small or unrepeatable samples.
- Interpret Capillary Zone Electrophoresis and immunotyping techniques using specialist knowledge, acquired skill and continuity of practice to determine which patterns are normal from those that are pathological.
Requirements of the Biomedical Scientist:
- Must have a relevant qualification in biomedical science (BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science or alternative qualification)
- 2 years post qualifying experience within a similar role
