Sanctuary Health are currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 7 Team Manager to fill a full-time role based in Guernsey in an Adults Community Recovery and Rehabilitation Service.

The salary for this permanent Team Manager is £38,055 to £50,172 per annum.

Duties:

  • Communicating the vision and objectives of the community team aligned to those of Guernsey Mental Health Services
  • Motivating and empowering team members
  • Clinical leadership, support, guidance and day to day management
  • The direct line management of duty and assessment practitioners
  • An accessible presence to service users and their carers
  • Ensuring that practice is delivered safely, in accordance with the Care Quality Framework and policies and procedures
  • Developing a culture of high professional standards in the delivery of evidence-based assessment
  • A focus on the prompt recruitment of staff, retention, succession planning and performance management
  • Supporting the Operational Manager and Clinical Lead colleagues as part of the senior group in the Community Team
  • To co-ordinate the provision of recovery and rehabilitation services to service users with complex mental health problems.
  • To ensure that there is a range of interventions available to meet the needs of service users.
  • To devise a pathway of treatment for service users diagnosed with personality disorder, providing evidence based and time limited interventions.
  • To ensure there are comprehensive and up to date risk assessments and risk management plans for all service users.
  • To ensure the team has capacity to respond to emergency and urgent situations.
  • To utilise up to date evidence and data from a range of sources to ensure that interventions are effective and in line with best practice.
  • To ensure the team has sufficient knowledge of resources in community and third sector organisations and other HSC departments to signpost service users to these services as appropriate.
  • To ensure discharge planning enables service users to step down from specialist services at the earliest stage.
  • To ensure that service user involvement is promoted in the planning and delivery of services and that their wishes, beliefs and dignity are respected at all times.
  • To ensure that professional staff act in accordance with professional codes of conduct, and other professional standards.
  • To ensure that staff members liaise and communicate effectively with colleagues and other agencies involved in the care of the service user.

Requirements of the Team Manager:

  • Current valid driving license with access to transport
  • Registered mental health professional
  • Diploma in a related field
  • Significant experience in community mental health services
  • Significant multi-disciplinary experience of working with, service users and families or groups
  • Substantial experience of teaching, training or professional supervision
  • Experience of exercising autonomous responsibility for working with service users with mental health problems
  • Experience of working with people with substance use problems
  • Experience of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children
  • Experience of supervision or mentoring
  • The role requires an experienced and skilled clinician in the field of mental health, working with service users with acute and complex needs and providing clinical leadership and line management to mental health practitioners
  • Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or equivalent
  • Degree in a related field
  • Teaching or mentoring qualification
  • Management Qualification
  • Experience of performance management
  • Advanced knowledge and skills of using a range of recovery and rehabilitation approaches derived from a recognised branch of professional practice
  • A highly developed ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in order to convey complex and clinically sensitive information to service users, family members (where appropriate) and to a wide range of professionals.
  • Information technology skills
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies and their implications for clinical practice
