Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 6 Mental Health Occupational Therapist to work full-time in Epsom. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Occupational Therapy and be registered with the HCPC.
The pay rate for this locum Occupational Therapist job is £25 per hour (Assignment rate) and this role is on an ongoing contract.
Duties:
- To work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team within the acute services setting to work with people with severe and enduring mental health problems
- To manage a defined caseload, using evidence based / client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in hospital and community settings and on home visits
- To take responsibility for the planning and delivery of the therapy and diversional activity programme for the service and provide assessments and group/individual treatment and evaluation, enabling clients to maximise their independence, prepare for discharge, ultimately aiming to reduce the risk of relapse and hospital admission
- To supervise Occupational Therapists, students and diversional activity coordinators, working independently as a Specialist Occupational Therapist
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:
- Degree or equivalent within Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist
- Post-registration experience gained working in front-line services
