Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 5/6 Occupational Therapist to work full-time within a Forensic Mental Health Team based in Aylesbury. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Occupational Therapy and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum Occupational Therapist job is £20 - £28 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) depending on experience/banding. This role is an initial 3-6month contract.

Summary:

  • You will be working within a 20-bed male unit in Aylesbury, working with individuals detained under the Mental Health Act.
  • Within the role you would be responsible for managing a defined case load, planning and facilitating groups and working with individuals both on the wards as well as in the community.
  • You would work alongside a Band 5 OT, a Health and Fitness Instructor, and be supported in your role by the Band 7 Clinical Lead OT.
  • The forensic OT service is highly regarded and supported by a full multidisciplinary team. Our practice is underpinned by the Model of Human Occupation, Vona DuToit Model of Creative Ability and recovery approach.
  • Basic knowledge of the VdT MoCA would be useful, though not essential as we are committed to providing training in this model for use in practice.

Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:

  • Degree or equivalent within Occupational Therapies
  • HCPC registered as an Occupational Therapist
  • 2 years post qualifying experience working as an Occupational Therapist
