Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Assistant Team Manager to work full-time within a Family Assessment Centre based in Wandsworth. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with Social Work England.

The salary for this permanent Assistant Team Manager job is £40,183 - £48,692 per annum.

Summary:

  • The Family Assessment Centre is a service which provides specialist residential/community- based parenting assessments and programmes of intervention to families with young children in need or at risk of harm. The service is targeted to meet the needs of families who face significant challenges and difficulties in their capacity to parent, and where court proceedings have been initiated or are being considered.

Role purpose:

  • The core purpose of the role is to ensure that all children remain safe and have improved outcomes as a result of the provision of high quality Parenting Assessments, Support and interventions.
  • The post holder will have a major contribution to make to the delivery of our vision and strategic priorities, by working with the Team Manager to manage the delivery and performance of high quality social work provision to children and their families across the Assessment Team.
  • Alongside holding their own cases, the post holder will supervise and support social workers in dealing with the most complex cases and will develop effective practice through direct development of others and through driving practice improvement across the service.

Requirements of the Assistant Team Manager:

  • Degree or equivalent in Social Work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • A minimum 2 years' experience within Children's Services
  • Experience and confidence of supervision and monitoring the work of experienced staff
  • Experience of supervising social workers or either a qualified Practice Educator with experience of teaching and assessing students
  • Experience of family assessments in court proceedings and giving evidence in court. Chair meetings and lead networks.
