Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Assistant Director to work full-time within Children's Services in East Midlands of England, Commissioning & Placements. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Social Work practice in Children Services and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum Assistant Director job is £550 - £650 per day (LTD Company Equivalent) and is a 3-month contract.

Duties of the Assistant Director:

  • Provide clear leadership and line management for commissioning and regulated services including residential settings and fostering and adoption services, managing and directing the senior officers and managers that will report to this role
  • Development of models, methods and arrangements that best serve children and families, developing new and innovative approaches to care service provision
  • Develop and implement a vision for children and families commissioning across the council in order to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families ensuring our vision and priorities are clear and aligned with the national policy direction
  • Work in partnership with children, young people, families, professional leads and organisational partners to understand need, develop strategies and influence the system to achieve positive change, developing appropriate models for future service delivery
  • As part of the senior leadership team, ensure savings, transformation and the improvement plan are delivered

Requirements of the Assistant Director:

  • Degree or equivalent in Social Work
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Experience working in a similar role
  • It is desirable to have experience in the management of regulated settings
  • Experience of partnership/joint working and delivering outcomes with other public bodies, the voluntary sector and/or private sector
  • Leading and managing strategic or operational developments which have led to positive change and performance improvement
  • Leadership of high performing commissioning, programme or operational teams
  • Extensive experience of social care
