Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Support Worker and Outreach to work either full time or part time based in Dewsbury.

The salary for this permanent job is up to £22,369 p.a. pro rata

Main Duties:

  • Providing personal care, such as bathing and dressing, to service users
  • Assisting service users with their daily activities, such as meal preparation, medication management, grocery shopping, and attending appointments
  • Supporting service users to develop and maintain their independence and social skills, both at home and in the community
  • Creating and following care plans to meet the individual needs of service users
  • Providing emotional and practical support to service users and their families
  • Advocating for service users and ensuring their rights are upheld
  • Supporting service users with any physical or emotional needs they may have
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns or issues to their supervisor
  • Following health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment for service users
  • Working as part of a team to ensure high-quality care and support is provided

Requirements of this job:

  • Level 3 in Health and Social Care qualification or equivalent, or willingness to undertake this
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with people who have a learning disability
  • Experience of working in the community or care home on a one-to-one basis with service users
  • Knowledge of the issues affecting vulnerable people
  • Understanding of health and safety manual handling issues
  • Understanding of the need to keep within professional boundaries
  • The ability to be flexible to fit in with the shift patterns including days, nights, weekends and bank/public holidays.
