The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £39,564 per annum

Main duties:

  • No direct supervisory responsibility, however may be required to assist in induction and training of peers and new employees.
  • Accepting client cases, as allocated by the manager, in line with the departmental protocols for case allocation and workload management.
  • Working with those clients who are the most vulnerable, or at the most risk and will be expected to have a higher degree of professional autonomy and accountability for their work.
  • Managing your own workload, with support from the manager in a way which: ensure professional best practice and integrity at all times, recognises the individual needs of each child/adult, and the importance of their family/carers.
  • Is efficient in the use of the service’s resources and effective in terms of outcomes and in meeting the department’s key performance targets and demonstrate the ability to work at a consistent high standard.
  • Employing whatever professional social work methods or techniques are relevant to the needs of the situation and of a level of skill expected of a social worker.
  • Assessing for and identifying eligible needs, deploying resources which maintain and promote children and young adults welfare/independence that may include, for example, respite/domiciliary care, support to carers or other appropriate services. Reviewing to ensure services remain appropriate to need.
  • Recognising the needs of the child/adult in regards to referrals to other professionals to deliver the required services.
  • To ensure vulnerable children/adults are protected by identifying circumstances where abuse may occur, or is occurring, and working collaboratively with others within the framework of the multi-agency safeguarding procedures to protect vulnerable children/adults.
  • To work within the statutory framework for Children/Adult Social Care adhering to national guidance and local policy and procedures, seeking guidance where appropriate to ensure your working practices are in line with legislative responsibilities and practice standards.
  • In agreement with the manager, undertaking work that supports the functioning of the team, contributing to performance and successful outcomes for users of the service.
  • Using the Department’s service user data base, inputting information as required by Departmental procedures and policies, ensuring the integrity and standard of service records are maintained.
  • Complete other reasonable tasks in order to fulfil role purpose or as instructed by management.

Requirements of this Social Worker job:

  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Continual professional development.
  • Social Work England registered.
