6 reasons to start your career at Sanctuary Personnel

By Kellie Thomas

At Sanctuary Personnel, we are passionate about placing candidates in roles that are a direct match to their skills, knowledge, experience and future aspirations. We treat all of our employees as individuals and will provide you with support and encouragement from the moment you step foot in the door.

Here are six reasons why Sanctuary Personnel is a fantastic and rewarding place to work:

1. You’ll be placed into a role that suits you

We will assess whether a role is suitable for you, and if it isn’t, we will encourage and support you in moving into a role that is. The sweet spot for success is when we recruit somebody into a job role that, not only are they good at, but they enjoy too. It’s common sense, but when that happens they are far more likely to thrive.

2. We support and encourage progression

Director of Sanctuary Health, Dan Allard, started as an apprentice in 2008 assisting a sales manager. Within six months of joining the company he had been promoted to a recruitment consultant. Dan is not an exception; if you have the right skills and a willingness to go above and beyond, we can help you to progress in the same way, giving you a long-term career and support at every step.

3. You’ll have a rewarding career

Our employees are vital to the success of the business. Working with us will mean you play a part in ensuring we have the right candidate for the job, and it’s important that we get it right. Our candidates work with the most vulnerable members of society; therefore, the quality of staff we are able to supply and how thoroughly safeguarded they are is extremely important to us. They do some of the most challenging work there is. We support them in any way we can to ensure they can keep working and supporting those vulnerable people.

We are continuously looking at how we can improve as an employer and offer greater career and earning prospects. We really are ‘placing people first’ in everything we do. We were recognised at the Recruiter Awards 2019 as the ‘Best Public and Third Sector Recruitment Agency’ and have had multiple award-wins prior to this.

4. We look after our employees

We offer a wide range of benefits for our employees. Annual leave increases the longer you work with us, and we offer a company pension, life assurance, and an employee assistance programme. We run team building and social events as well as other reward and recognition schemes, and you’ll receive high street, restaurant and cinema discounts.

We recently launched a new employee reward scheme to complement our existing ‘employee of the month’ award. Each winner goes forward to a quarterly nomination, where the board vote for who should win either a £500 holiday voucher or the chance to borrow a luxury car for the weekend!

5. A degree isn’t necessary

You don’t need to have a degree to start a career with us; you can apply for a role after finishing your A-Levels or GCSES. There are various departments you can work in such as sales, recruitment, business administration, finance, marketing, IT and HR.

We like to focus on you as a person, paying attention to your drive and determination to succeed, rather than your exam results. To start a role in finance, you would need a recognised finance or accountancy qualification. To join our sales team, we would be looking for proven experience within a sales environment. Although these roles require previous experience, starting as an apprentice will give you the opportunity to gain the experience and qualifications you need.

6. No commute

You may have always envisioned starting a career would involve commuting to a bigger city. Commuting from Ipswich to London, Cambridge or Norwich can be expensive and adds time onto your working day. We’re based in the centre of Ipswich and you can easily reach us by car, train or bus. We’re a 10-15 minute walk from Ipswich railway station and there are bus stops just a few minutes’ walk away.

We won’t hesitate to create a role for you if you’re a dynamic, strong candidate and we see potential in you that could benefit the business.
