Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company within the private and public sector has a locum role for a Band 7 Ultrasound Sonographer to work full-time based in Blackpool.

The pay rate for these locum Ultrasound Sonographer job is £28 - £29 per hour (Assignment rate) and is a 12-month contract.

Main Duties:

  • Use a wide range of developed clinical skills to exercise responsibility for the delivery of diagnostic procedures, diagnostic results and patient care in a specialised or general area of work
  • Make recommendations for further scans, assessment and referral where needed
  • Ensure that full patient and examination data is entered onto the RIS patient management system and images are correctly stored on PACS
  • Rotate between the Ultrasound departments in the Women's Unit and X-ray Central, as well as sessions undertaken at Community sites
  • Utilize the Agfa RIS booking system and order communications In the organization of the departmental workload
  • Assess examination requests for clinical urgency, prioritizing urgent referrals where appropriate
  • Working as a member of the multidisciplinary team assist the Ultrasound Manager in ensuring that all the different scanning areas have sufficient staffing resources to carry out required duties
  • Liaise appropriately with staff outside the Department of Radiology in the organization of workload and ensure the maintenance of good working relationships
  • Patient presentations, seriously ill, will include the unconscious, uncooperative, incapacitated, incompetent, disorientated and those with physical and mental disabilities

Requirements of the Ultrasound Sonographer:

  • HCPC registration
  • Post graduate sonography experience
  • Willing to undertake a DBS Check
