Sanctuary Health has a permanent job vacancy for an experienced and dedicated Theatre Practitioner to work in an Orthopaedic Scrub Ward based in Rochdale. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of nursing and be registered with the NMC.

The salary for this permanent Theatre Practitioner role is £28,000 per annum.

Role purpose:

  • To deliver safe quality care for patients during their perioperative phase of care.

  • To support and assist in the management and organisation of care provision within the Operating Department.

Main Duties:

  • Support the team to deliver care that helps improve the health of the individual and wider community.

  • Support the team in demonstrating compassion through effective relationships based on empathy, respect and dignity.

  • Develop own competence to deliver effective care and treatments through improving clinical/technical knowledge / skill, and expertise.

  • Communicate appropriately with others involved in the care of the patient.

  • Act as an advocate for safeguarding patients; demonstrate courage to speak up when there are concerns about care.

  • Demonstrate commitment to improving care and the patient experience.

  • Assist in the delivery of patient care.

  • Contribute to quality improvement.

  • Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self.

  • Apply and promote best evidence based practice within own scope of practice.

  • Apply legislation, policies and procedures correctly.

  • Maintain knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act. Ensuring appropriate measures are taken in respect of Health and Safety for patients, relatives, visitors, hospital staff and contractors.

  • Assemble, check and prepare the appropriate surgical equipment, instruments, and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures.

Requirements of the Theatre Practitioner:

  • Qualification/Degree within Nursing

  • Current NMC Registration

  • Recent UK experience working as a Registered Nurse

  • As a qualified practitioner with NMC registration you will use your skills and knowledge to work well within a team, adopting a flexible and collaborative approach at all times.
