Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Team Manager to work full-time within a Hospital Discharge Team based in Islington. The ideal candidates will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Social Work practice in Adult Services and be registered with Social Work England.

The pay rate for this locum Team Manager role is £38 per hour (assignment rate) and is a 6-month contract.

Summary:

  • The role will include providing leadership, direction and supervision to team members who comprise of dedicated senior practitioners, social workers and therapists working from home and across different hospital and intermediate care settings.
  • As postholder of this role you will provide complex case management advice to staff, chair Safeguarding meetings, assist in Mental Capacity assessments and Best Interest decisions, attend and represent the Council at regular hospital/partner meetings, and respond to discharge delays/escalations. This is also an opportunity to further expand on and embed strength-based practice into a wide and varied well-established workforce.
  • You will report to the Discharge services' Service Lead and provide support to the Head of Service and Assistant Director where required.

Requirements of the Team Manager:

  • Degree or equivalent in Social Work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within Adult Services
  • Must have experience in managing a health or social care team
  • Have Safeguarding Adults Manager training.
  • Must have strong communication skills, be well organised and adaptable to change, and show a commitment and drive to uphold high standards of care across the service. It is essential to have a good working knowledge of relevant and updated legislative duties, guidance and government policies.
  • Offer a 7-day service from 8am-8pm, therefore there will be a requirement to be part of a 7-day rota (including Bank Holidays) with other managers. Out of hours and Bank Holiday pay rates will be applied.
  • The role is based in the community however candidates will be working remotely/from home as per current Covid19 guidance.
