Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Team Manager to fill a full-time role within a Children's Services based in Guernsey, within the Children with Disabilities Team.

The pay rate for this locum Team Manager job is £45 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.

Duties:

  • To act as lead on professional and management matters as may relate to the care of disabled children and young people within the Directorate.
  • To have overall responsibility on a day-to-day basis for the management of the Children's Disability Service and be accountable for the service delivery, including business planning and future developments.
  • Develop, monitor and implement policies for the Children's Disability Service.
  • To have responsibility for the services budgets and accountable for expenditure and monitoring, purchasing capitals, equipment, supplies and resources.
  • To provide training to a multi-agency group on safeguarding issues for children with disabilities.
  • To deputise for the Service Manager, Child Health.
  • To be aware of and comply with States of Guernsey, Children and Family Community Services policies, procedures, guidelines and professional standards related to service staff.
  • To participate in on-call/duty arrangements as required by the Directorate.

Requirements:

  • A recognised and relevant professional social work qualification (Degree / Diploma in Social Work).
  • Registered on Social Work England.
  • Management experience is essential.
  • Excellent understanding and vision of children's disability services
  • Ability to support a multi-disciplinary team and enable inter- disciplinary collaboration
  • Excellent management and leadership skills
  • Ability to motivate the team and initiate change
  • Financial management skills
  • Experience at Band 7/senior practitioner, within a relevant speciality
  • Experience of leading and managing a team of health/social care staff
  • Experience of managing poor performance
  • Experience of handling clinical incidents and complaints
  • Experience of staff development through clinical supervision and mentoring
