Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time in Wickham, within the Fostering Team.
The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with the Social Work England.
The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is £30,000 - £36,000 per annum.
To contribute to the effective day to day practice of the Fostering Service. Recruit, assess, train and support foster carers, working in partnership with other team members in order to provide a high quality and safe service for our foster families and the children/young people they look after.
Duties:
- Ensure that allocated placements are operated within the strict legislation, guidance, and policies operated by the agency
- Actively recruit and assess applicants offering to care for children on behalf of the Agency Ensure that all carers are informed of and fully comply with all standards, policies, and guidance the agency operates within
- Monitor the continued suitability and competence via support and supervision to foster carers according to the Agency's requirements
- Be responsible for the compliance of allocated carer/child records which are recorded promptly and appropriately
- Develop, contribute to, monitor and deliver training to carers and other staff. Ensuring that foster carers complete all relevant and mandatory training courses
- Ensure every child in placement has a care plan, all legal placement documents and that their carers maintain regular recording in line with the Agency's policy
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
- Post Qualification training and development
- Experience of working in fostering related social work and/or child social care
