Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company within the private and public sector has a locum role for a Supervising Social Worker to work full-time based in Stratford.
The salary for this permanent Supervising Social Worker job is £30,000 -£36,000 per annum.
Duties:
First responsibility will be to the child in placement, even though s/he will not have case management responsibility for the child
Act as the named Social Worker, supervising, supporting and developing designated foster carers
Recruit, assess and prepare potential foster carers
Participate in training of staff, foster carers and potential foster carers
Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with regulation and agency requirements and contribute to the evaluation and continual improvement of the organisation
Supervision of Foster Carers
Prepare an Annual Review Report on each carer for presentation to the Panel
Provide an effective connection between the carer and staff employed by GLF
Participate in GLF social and support events, promoting effective relationships between carers, their support networks and staff
Respond to enquiries about fostering and undertake home visits to provide information and initial assessment
Prepare applicants for fostering through learning and development, both in groups and individually
Undertake competency-based assessments of potential foster carers in accordance with legislation and relevant regulation and prepare a report on their suitability as foster carers, using the BAAF form F format
Complete and exchange with the child's social worker all reports of relevance to the placement within the agreed time limits
Complete weekly record of work undertaken in order to enable the operational manager to determine, prioritise and monitor workload and assign tasks to appropriate staff
Attend regular supervision and annual appraisal meetings with the line-manager and participate in appropriate training and professional development
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with GLF's philosophy, equal opportunities statement, quality assurance procedures, complaints procedures, child protection procedures, financial procedures and employment policies
Requirements of the Supervising Social Worker:
Degree or equivalent in social work
Current Social Work England registration
Significant senior level frontline experience within Children’s Services
