Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Supervising Social Worker to work full-time in Waltham Abbey. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with Social Work England.

The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is £31,000 - £35,000 per annum.

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
  • Willing to undergo appropriate child protection screening, including employment references and DBS check.
  • Experience of working within a Fostering Team is preferable
  • Flexible approach to working
  • Full UK driving license and access to a car
  • Commitment to working flexible hours

Responsibilities of Supervising Social Worker:

  • Supervise and support a caseload of between 10-12 fostering families and their placements
  • Completing all necessary recording and reporting documentation;
  • Direct work with children and young people to support better outcomes and stable placements;
  • Attend meetings and liaise with professionals to ensure positive outcomes and safeguarding of children in placements;
  • Assist in undertaking initial visits, as required;
  • Actively promote, develop and deliver training programmes which support the development of our foster carers;
  • Promote the agency externally ensuring that the agency's policies to offer a professional, high-quality fostering service;
  • Working in an out of hours rota;
  • Report to the Registered Manager.
