Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company within the private and public sector has a locum role for a Strategic Project Manager to work in Manchester.

The pay rate for this Strategic Project Manager role is £35 per hour and has a 1-month contract.

Main Duties:

  • Work to promote Manchester as a place to live, work and visit by, for example, encouraging businesses to relocate here, bringing new jobs and investment to the city.
  • Play a key strategic role in a range of major development and regeneration projects and co-ordinate the development of strategies and policies related to the growth and regeneration of the city centre supporting delivery of the key priorities set out in the City Centre Strategic
  • Plan for investment in new commercial, residential, retail, cultural, public transport infrastructure and public realm investments.
  • Develop, manage and successfully deliver a complex, high valued programme of strategic regeneration projects and initiatives, taking direct responsibility for the successful delivery of all elements, to agreed levels of time, budget and quality.
  • Lead and drive the design, development and implementation of evidenced strategies and will commission, oversee, analyse and interpret complex research and deliver high quality projects, reports and presentations across the spectrum of the Council’s interests.
  • Manage resources effectively and deploy and co-ordinate resources in a well-planned and controlled manner, ensuring that project requirements and resource levels are fully identified, including staffing, financial and ICT requirements, working collaboratively with both internal services and external partners in a manner which is focused on organisational objectives and embraces the principle of joint working.
  • Undertake effective stakeholder management with senior managers and strategic directors, interpreting strategic visions into a coherent programme of projects which deliver organisational priorities.
  • Ensure that change is managed effectively by working with relevant project teams within the business and other key stakeholders.

Requirements of the Strategic Project Manager:

  • Extensive expertise of delivering complex programmes, within a structured project methodology, to challenging timelines, balancing conflicting project priorities to ensure the successful delivery of agreed programme benefits.
  • Ability to control numerous projects simultaneously to budget and deadline, whilst maintaining excellent quality control and working with a wide range of partners.
  • A strong record of partnership working with both public and private sector stakeholders and successfully delivering multiple urban regeneration projects simultaneously to restrict timescales.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the key drivers influencing the competitiveness of cities in general and city centres in particular and the role that we can play in influencing them
  • Knowledge and understanding of the range of regeneration and other interventions that contribute to improving the competitiveness of Manchester and to enabling residents to secure real benefits from the success of the city
  • Manage others to deliver a workload with a number of complex strands to required standards and deadlines
