Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company within the private and public sector has a locum role for a Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work full-time based in Barking and Dagenham.
The pay rate for this locum Band 5/6 Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist role is £26.27 per hour (assignment rate) and is an ongoing contract.
Main duties:
- Work as part of the SALT feeding and communication teams.
- Manage a caseload of children with a range of communication needs across settings including schools and clinic.
- Work with Children with Education and Health Care Plans where SLT has been identified as part of the provision.
- Complete assessments and annual reviews, write individual programmes, set up groups, provide advice and resources and review outcomes with a functional based focus.
- Work collaboratively with children, families and other professionals to achieve outcomes for individuals, providing support, programmes, ideas, advice and assessment.
- Provide advice to others regarding the management and care of children with social communication difficulties.
- Demonstrate clinical effectiveness by use of evidence based practice and outcome measures.
- Provide a service considering the needs of clients from a range of ethnic and linguistic backgrounds
Requirements of the Speech and Language Therapist:
- Degree or equivalent within Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registered as a Speech and Language Therapist
- Recent post qualifying experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist
