Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company to the private and public sector has a permanent vacancy for a Specialist Physiotherapist to work based in Birmingham.

The salary for this permanent Specialist Physiotherapist job is £37,890 per annum.

Duties:

  • Work as a specialist within the multi/inter disciplinary team providing physiotherapy input within the BIRT neuro behavioural model to service users with acquired brain injury
  • Work across the three Trust pathways: Neuro behavioural, Neurorestorative, and Well-being
  • Support the development of specialist physiotherapy provision within the service
  • Liaise with internal and external professionals, relevant organisations, family members and service users
  • Act as a positive professional role model, and to pro-actively support the clinical leadership team to achieve Trust Objectives
  • Work within a specialist clinical area as an autonomous professional with support and supervision (which may be remote) or a more senior Physiotherapist for more complex cases
  • Accept professional accountability and responsibility
  • Undertake comprehensive neurological assessments, analyses, and treatment plans
  • Deliver effective treatment plans and progress/adjust according to the service user response, multi/inter disciplinary team discussion, and other influencing factors
  • Ensure that treatment plans are informed by the best evidence and practice guidelines
  • Provide specialist professional advice and support and use complex clinical problem-solving
  • Engage in a specialist area of interest within the wider physio team
  • Effectively manage your time to balance the demands of this role in an environment that can have unpredictable work patterns during your working time, changing priorities and frequent interruptions
  • Use appropriate physical intervention techniques once trained and competent
  • Support service users with personal care which may involve exposure to bodily fluids
  • Maintain your registration with all relevant regulatory bodies
  • Adhere to CSP and HCPC Standards of Conduct, performance and ethics

Requirements of the Specialist Physiotherapist:

  • Degree or equivalent within Physiotherapy
  • HCPC registered as a Physiotherapist
  • Recent post qualifying experience working as a Physiotherapist
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Be able to quickly and effectively adapt your working practices to meet the needs of the service user you are working with
  • Ability to manage challenging and aggressive behaviour with compassion and professionalism
  • Be able to support service users with mobility issues using approved moving and handling techniques which may include the ability to push a wheelchair or use a hoist
  • Be aware of Equality Diversity & Inclusion characteristics and ensure that these are considered appropriately throughout all work undertaken
