Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Specialised Oncology Dietician to fill a locum full-time role based in Guernsey. The ideal candidates will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of dietetics and be registered with the HCPC.
The pay rate for this Permanent Dietitian job is £34,763 - £47,094 per annum
Job Summary:
- This varied and interesting post will best suit a confident and experienced State Registered Dietitian who is able to provide professional and effective nutrition counselling and nutrition support to a wide range of Oncology patients through indirect and direct patient contact, both in an individual and group setting.
Duties:
- To assess patients referred to the Dietitian within Oncology services and as the service requires in acute patient areas, for both adult and on occasion, with support, paediatric patients, and to develop appropriate treatment plans including provision of nutrition support where relevant.
- To establish an empathetic therapeutic relationship with patients and carers so to effectively assist them to improve their nutritional care.
- To communicate effectively and appropriately with all members of the multidisciplinary team and other agencies involved in the care of the patient/client both verbally and in writing, e.g. medical notes, reports and letters.
- To work as an autonomous practitioner, managing a caseload of service users.
- To record and submit clinical activity data as required by the Department in an accurate and timely manner.
Requirements of the Dietitian:
- Degree or equivalent within Nutrition and Dietetics
- HCPC registered as a Dietitian
- Recent post qualifying experience working as a Dietitian
- Must have UK critical care experience.
- Excellent presentation skills and experience delivering training to other health care professionals
- Recent relevant experience in home enteral feeding and enteral feeding equipment
- Experience in using the Microsoft Suit such as, excel, powerpoint and word.
- Clean Driving Licence and available vehicle
- Flexible approach to work to see solutions to difficulties as they arise.
