Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time within a Strengthening Families Team based in Blackpool. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.

The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £35 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.

Job Summary:

  • As a social worker in Supporting and Strengthening Families teams you will have a keen interest in those children in need of help and protection. You will have the opportunity to work with those children subject to child protection procedures, complex child in need, PLO/Pre-Proceedings and on the Edge of Care.
  • You will have the opportunity to work intensively with families utilising a strength-based approach to practice that is creative and innovative and enables families to develop resilience and sustainability
  • You will strive to improve outcomes and the lived experience of our children. The quality of practice will be supported by regular supervision, excellent training opportunities and tools and resources readily available to assist in your day to day work. Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's Services
  • Good understanding of safeguarding children processes
  • Experience of court work
  • Experience of managing a varied and complex case load
  • Ability to write concise, fit for purpose reports/court statements and ability to maintain up to date and accurate records.
  • Experience of inputting into children's services data systems (Mosaic;ICS)
  • At least 2 years' experience in statutory children's social work
