Sanctuary Social Care currently has a permanent vacancy Senior Social Worker/Senior Practitioner within a Children's Locality Team, based in Wembley, London. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Social Work Practice in Children Services and be registered with the Social Work England.

The salary package for this permanent Social Worker/Senior Practitioner role is £46,067 - £49,055 per annum. The package includes: 

  • £5,000 golden hello and relocation packages (for hard to recruit to roles)  

  • £1,200 annual retention payment for all social work qualified staff

Brand new 1 and 2-bed Key Worker Housing apartments available on a submarket rental basis, for permanent social workers from early 2021. These are on the Wembley Park site, just a 5-minute walk from the Brent Civic Centre. The apartments will provide social workers and other key workers with a wonderful opportunity to live in a new development close to lots of shops, restaurants and leisure opportunities. 

Job Purpose:

  • Provide an excellent social work service which will enable our children and young people to fulfil their potential and achieve positive outcomes.

  • Ensure that the voice of the child is always heard and that the views of our young people are at the heart of all of our case planning.

  • Creating genuine partnerships with parents or carers.

  • Working in partnership with other agencies to provide effective and coordinated child care

Duties:

  • To independently and regularly deal with the most complex and risky cases.

  • Regularly deal with legal applications and court cases relating to children.

  • Provide an excellent model of social work practice.

  • Attend key case meetings as a specialist social worker and chairing meetings where appropriate under the direction of a Team Manager.

  • To support and advise less experienced social workers within the council.

  • Deputise for Consultant Social Workers when required.

Requirements for the Social Worker/Senior Practitioner:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work

  • Current Social Work England registration

  • Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's Services
