Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time in Reading, within the SGO/LAC Team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.
The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £40 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 3-month contract.
Summary:
- The team will be undertaking placement support for children looked after by Brighter Futures for Children.
- The team will be multi-disciplinary in nature, drawing on a range of professional expertise in order to minimise placement breakdowns, keep CLA in or as close to Reading as possible, and enhance a child's journey through care by providing wraparound support.
- This support also extends to CLA in kinship placements and children in private fostering.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's Services
- Skilled in undertaking reunification assessments
- Experience in court applications to Discharge Care Orders for children who are placed at home on Care Orders.
- Experience in writing SGO reports for prospective carers extensive knowledge of local authority processes in Children Services.
- Good working knowledge of child care legislation.
- Highly skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families to engage them in assessments and plans.
- Ability to write high quality analytical reports. Creative, flexible and forward thinking.
- Striving to provide the best outcomes for children. Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
